The cross-platform challenge
Users expect the same privacy choices regardless of platform. But implementation details differ heavily between web and iOS app lifecycles.
The risk is policy drift: same label, different behavior. We designed against that by standardizing policy interpretation first, then adapting UI behavior per platform.
Consistency decisions
Instead of mirroring every visual pattern, we aligned language, category structure, and consent outcomes. Platform-specific UI remained native where needed.
- - Shared consent vocabulary and category hierarchy
- - Common mapping of user actions to policy state
- - Platform-aware UX implementation without legal behavior divergence
Result
Support teams handled fewer edge-case questions, and product teams shipped updates faster because policy intent stayed consistent while UI stayed platform-appropriate.
